Macula Treatments

We offer a full range of treatments for macular degeneration.

Dry Macular Degeneration:

The majority of cases for dry macular degeneration, surgery or laser is not indicated. However in a small number of people there may be benefit for lens or cataract extraction replacement with implantable telescopes or other intraocular devices. Further information can be obtained following consultation and assessment. Many of these technologies are innovative and costly and therefore are undertaken with caution and care but we are able to individually assess to determine suitability.

Wet Macular Degeneration:

Should the macula develop leakage or bleeding, wet macular degeneration, then treatment with injections into the eye such as Lucentis, Eyelea or Avastin can be undertaken or laser treatment on occasion maybe suitable. We are able to provide a rapid assessment service, treatment and ongoing monitoring and care.
